My son visited with his scout group, they had them all dressed and watched safety video to then be told they didn't have a helmet to fit him. He is 11 and of fairly average size, there were 16 in his group and he was the only one not allowed to race. He has Asperger’s and it took a huge amount of courage for him to attend. I wonder why and how they think this is ok? Advertised that children from 8 can attend but they don't have equipment to accommodate? The manager offered him to use later matrix on his own away from his group and thought this was acceptable! I can't work out why they would not have a helmet to fit and sincerely hope this does not happen to anyone else. Anyone who knows about ASD will understand how deeply this has affected my son and how it has already and will in the future affect trips to new places.

If you are looking for an adrenal fuelled fun day out then this is for you !! Not as easy as it looks. My thoughts of being 1st on the leaderboard were rapidly overtaken by my desire not to be bottom. I thoroughly recommend this as a well ran, safe and competitive bit of fun where you can pace yourself as you like. Laps are 2 X 15’ with breaks of the same length. On average you will do around 20 laps each race. Modern electric Karts and headgear included. Great fun day for all at a good price 🏎️

The experience was outstanding! You're never going to get a white knuckle, seat of the pants racing experience like it. Unfortunately, I was so excited I forgot about the yellow light test, and wondered why everyone was slowing down...I soon knew when a Track Marshall read me the riot act for driving at speed when yellow was showing - his approach was correct, his instructions were clear, and I couldn't have been more sorry for forgetting the safety rules in my 57 year old excitement. That is not a mistake to make AT ALL, I'm glad the Marshall nailed it so professionally with me. He gave me one more chance, and all was well. I'm only saying this because I realised the gravity and implications of my initial forgetful excitement on the track were dangerous, and my respect for that Track Marshall laying it on the line for me was complete. So if you go, keep a level head, get to know the track, go as fast as you can, you are going to have a completely memorable experience, really (!), but comply with the rules set out in the introductory video, they are there for ultimate safety and in fact make the Time Trials or races more exciting. VERDICT: Great place, great staff, helmets for use are of Sport quality, the real deal, tricky but fulfilling track with a crossover bridge, fast as hell, safe, thumb-ball numbing precision in the unpowered steering, you've got to be on it, there you go, not for the fainthearted, you won't forget it. I'll go back soon!
